Belgian Tervuren peeing on carpetEven the best-trained Belgian Tervuren will occasionally pee on your carpet. Here's a simple tip on how to clean your carpet.

What you need is Hydrogen Peroxide, which you can get at any pharmacy and many supermarkets. It's used as a bleach, a disinfectant, and also is sometimes prescribed for the common cold. Used correctly, Hydrogen Peroxide can be used to rid your carpet of doggie stains!

Here is how:

101 Home Uses of Hydrogen PeroxideStep 1: First test on a small section of your carpet to see if the Hydrogen Peroxide is going to damage your carpet. It is, after all, a bleach. Test on the underside, or at the very edge of a corner, where it is least likely to be seen. Wait about 10 minutes after placing some Hydrogen Peroxide on the carpet.

Step 2: If all is well, soak up the pee with one or more paper towels, by first laying a couple on the pee, then using a fresh paper towel to dab lightly. Do NOT rub forcefully.

Step 3: Liberally pour some Hydrogen Peroxide on the pee stain. Hydrogen Peroxide is only about $1 for a large bottle, so don't be shy with it! Let it settle for a few minutes.

Step 4: Dab up the mess with a few more paper towels.

The mess is gone and with a little luck, no stains in the carpet. This trick has worked better than any over-the-counter solution for me.
